??

So I have a question for those of you who had upper jaw surgery...and had it widened as well. it hurts the roof of my mouth right down the middle when I laugh. it almost feels like maybe there is a gap in the bone and when I laugh air comes through my sinuses into it. That's the only way I know to describe it. it hurts. has anyone else had feelings like that?

  1. I haven't had any pain, but it's definitely very sensitive to cold and hot. Anytime I drink, it feels like it's going to go up thru the top of my mouth into my nose. Really weird feeling.

  2. mine was widened, i'm about two and a half weeks post op but i haven't experienced that. at least not yet. the gums above my front teeth are still numb but the roof of my mouth isn't i don't think. it just feels wider than before.

  3. It started a little bit after I got the splint out...my gums are all still numb on my upper jaw except for little jolts of pain here and there. the feeling seems to be coming back on the right half of the roof of my mouth, which is what hurts when I laugh or breath in really fast. I have an appointment with my OS next week, I'll ask him about it.
